The popular Netflix romantic drama Virgin River was renewed for a sixth season in May 2023, four months before Season 5 premiered.
Virgin River was originally set to film Season 6 over Summer 2023, but the writers’ and actors’ strikes derailed those plans.
According to prior schedules, Season 4 will begin filming on December 7, 2021 and will air on July 20, 2022. Season 5 began filming on November 21, 2022 and will broadcast on September 7, 2023.
This gives a rough seven-month timeframe between the end of filming and the release of a new season of Virgin River on Netflix.
Given the Season 6 completion date of May 17, it will most likely begin streaming in January 2025.
If the process is sped along, which it may considering all the time lost during the strike, there’s a chance Netflix will launch Season 6 in late 2024.
