The Patient on Hulu is not based on a book. The Patient is a psychological thriller created by Joel Fields and Joe Weisberg. The Patient is story of a therapist named Alan Strauss, character played by Steve Carell who is held prisoner by a patient, Sam Fortner, who is a serial killer.
