Untamed is a Netflix mystery thriller that turns the beauty and danger of America’s national parks into the setting for a murder investigation. Eric Bana stars as Kyle Turner, an Investigative Services Branch agent who knows Yosemite National Park but remains haunted by personal loss.

Kyle is highly capable in the wilderness and understands the unofficial networks that operate around Yosemite. He is less successful at dealing with his emotional life, particularly the damage left by a family tragedy.

Eric Bana gives the character a quiet, worn-down quality. Turner’s knowledge makes him a strong investigator, but the case repeatedly tests whether his instincts are objective or shaped by unresolved pain.

Lily Santiago as Naya Vasquez

Naya is a former Los Angeles police officer who has moved to Yosemite with her young son. She is new to the park, but her urban homicide experience makes her valuable in an investigation that others are tempted to explain away as an accident.

Because Naya is learning the environment, the audience learns with her. Her partnership with Turner also creates tension between established habits and a fresh perspective.

Sam Neill as Paul Souter

Paul is Yosemite’s veteran chief ranger and a long-time friend of Turner. He represents institutional knowledge and the complicated loyalty that develops when people work together for decades in an isolated setting.

Rosemarie DeWitt as Jill Bodwin

Jill is Turner’s former wife. Although they are divorced and she has rebuilt her life, their shared history keeps them connected. Her scenes expose the emotional reality Turner avoids while pursuing the case.

How many episodes are in Untamed?

Season 1 has six episodes. All six are available on Netflix, making it possible to watch the complete Yosemite investigation without waiting for weekly releases.
