The main friend group
Tina Fey as Kate
Kate is married to Jack and is one of the central organisers within the friend group. Fey plays her as intelligent, funny and highly aware of the emotional dynamics around her, even when Kate does not always apply the same clarity to herself. Will Forte as Jack
Jack is Kate’s husband and a history teacher. Forte balances Jack’s awkward humour with a sincere attachment to the group’s traditions. Colman Domingo as Danny

Steven Pasquale as Mark Brett
Mark meets the group during a Jersey Shore trip and quickly forms a connection with Jack. Pasquale plays him as friendly and playful, but the character also gives Jack someone outside the original group with whom he can speak more openly. David Tennant as Gianpiero
Gianpiero is Danny and Claude’s neighbour in Italy. Tennant gives the role an easy charm that makes him feel believable as someone who could fit into the group despite arriving much later. The actor is also known for Doctor Who, Broadchurch and Criminal: UK.
Additional family cast
The series also uses younger family members to show that the friendships extend beyond the six adults. Cole Tristan Murphy appears as Kyler, and other supporting performers play the children connected to the main couples.
