The movie works best when it focuses on Brandon, Zero and Thomas. Chad Michael Collins has now played Brandon often enough to give the character a convincing sense of fatigue and responsibility. Because the scene stops before giving viewers a definitive answer, the safest conclusion is that Thomas is critically injured and presumed to be in danger, not officially confirmed dead.

What Happens to Brandon?

Brandon is captured by Diaz after Thomas is shot. Even as a prisoner, he tells Zondi that he will escape. The statement is both a threat and a promise that the story is not over.
