Robert Langdon Netflix Cast, Characters and The Secret of Secrets Book Adaptation Explained

Netflix is bringing Robert Langdon back to the screen, with Morgan Spector taking over the role of Dan Brown’s famous Harvard symbologist. Production has begun in Prague on an eight-hour series set in the world of The Secret of Secrets. Rebecca Hall plays Katherine Solomon, while Netflix has already confirmed a substantial supporting ensemble.

Netflix has not announced a premiere date yet. The September 4 production update is important because it confirms the adaptation is no longer just in development: cameras are rolling and 11 named cast-and-character pairings are now public.

Morgan Spector plays Robert Langdon, the Harvard professor whose expertise in religious symbols, history, art and hidden codes repeatedly draws him into international conspiracies. The Netflix series gives Spector a new screen version of the character rather than continuing the Tom Hanks film continuity.

The story centers on Langdon trying to rescue a missing scientist and recover a manuscript containing discoveries with potentially enormous implications for the study of human consciousness. That makes the new series a blend of academic mystery, science thriller and international conspiracy.

Rebecca Hall as Katherine Solomon
