Netflix’s latest miniseries, which follows the life of drug lord Griselda Blanco, has taken the world by storm, rising to number one on the streaming site only a few days after its premiere.
In the series conclusion, Blanco discovers that her three eldest sons were murdered while she was imprisoned.
“Dixon was shot while walking to his car,” agent June Hawkins explains on the broadcast. “Ozzy was in a packed nightclub. Uber was shot in Colombia while doing a drug transaction.
Michael, Blanco’s youngest son, is still alive and has been on VH1’s reality TV show Cartel Crew, which follows the lives of people whose families have had previous affiliations with Cartels in Miami, Florida. The show has been running for three seasons since 2019.
Two of Griselda Blanco’s sons were murdered while she was in prison, and both occurred years before she was scheduled to be freed. Dixon and Michael were both living in Colombia when Griselda was deported, and they outlived their mother, who was slain in 2012 while leaving a Medellin butcher shop. The Godmother’s death was not depicted in Griselda, and the Netflix series instead ended with the widow mourning the deaths of her children. Finally, this was a lot more effective approach to conclude such a tragic and cautionary story.
